Did you know? Records show that there has been an ale house on this site for over 300 years. The pub used to be known as 'Worlds End'.
Unlucky locals who were condemned to the gallows were hanged at Lammas Lands, a strip of open meadow by the River Wey, near the tavern. Some of those bodies were laid out in the cellar of the pub for collection by the deceased's family. Rumour has it that, due to this dark past as 'World's End', the pub is haunted!
